BASIC FIRE SAFETY

€55 Per Person / €500 for group of 12

2.5 Hour course

Aim	This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge that can be applied both at home, in the workplace or wherever there is a risk of fire. Fire Safety incl. Fire Watch, Fire Warden and Safe Use of a Fire Extinguisher. Open to private or corporate groups.
Who’s it for	All who want to learn more about how to recognise hazardous fire situations and what measures to take to prevent or mitigate against the outbreak of fire either in the home or in the workplace.Sections 8, 9 and 10 of the 2005 Act require that sufficient information, training and supervision is provided to ensure the safety of employees.
Method of Delivery	Demonstration, discussion and practical fire protection and prevention techniques.
Course Programme	Select and use appropriate firefighting equipment Follow evacuation procedures Identify fire hazards in the workplace Describe the chemistry of fire Fire safety legislation (Overview) Understanding the physics and chemistry of fire Development and spread of fire Action in the event of fire Means of raising alarm Means of summoning the fire brigade Action on hearing the fire alarm Evacuation procedures Practical demonstration in the use of foam and CO2 fire extinguishers using our state of the art gas fired training system.
Duration & Assessment	2.5 Hour course Assessment is by a multiple-choice test and practical demonstration.
Certification	Certificates of attendance in “Fire Safety” are awarded to participants on successful completion of course.
